Father’s Day Easel Card

I am blessed to have lovely, supportive parents who have always surrounded me with love, affection and encouragement.    They just love to receive cards I make… you can really see the anticipation in their faces as they open the envelopes.

The card I made for my mummy for Mother’s Day this year can be seen in an earlier post.  I made the following card for my Pop for Father’s Day which was on 16 June this year in the UK.

Using my Pazzles Inspiration Electronic Die Cutter, I cut 2 scallop-edged 19cm squares from 300gsm white card and inked edges with Brilliance Ink Pad “Peacock”. I then attached these to another piece of card which I had folded so that when the card is closed, the scalloped squares match perfectly.

Digital Elements:

  • Diamonds paper from the “SK8R” kit by Amanda Carlson
  • Image of snoozing man from internet (sorry don’t know designer)

Fonts used:

  • Happy – “Algerian”
  • Father’s Day – “Cast Iron”
  • Pop – “”
  • Relax & enjoy your day! “”

I also used some silver glitter card from my stash to matte the paper and images and star shaped brads which I coated with Ice Stickles glitter glue.

My nephew turned 13!

It was my nephew Ben’s 13th birthday earlier this month and I made him this card digitally:

I used the following products:

  • digital papers from Teen Life by Jennifer of Word Art World
  • Inverted News Alpha by Robin Gough
  • Stamped Alphas by ScrapALatte Designs
  • Guitar element from Bass’ic Black Notes kit by Digital Ink By Melissa
  • mp3 player and tablet images from internet

I added a shadow to the papers and elements in Photoshop Elements then printed it off on 300 gsm card.  Using a black Gelly Roll Stardust pen, I added dimension to the digital stamped image No 13 (I’m sorry but I can’t remember who designed this).

This is the finished card – apologies for the quality of the photograph, but you can just about see the sparkle on the no 13.

I look forward to any comments!
