“Ruby, Ruby, Ruby, Ruby. Ahhhhhhhhhhhh”

In case you didn’t know, this is my favourite Kaiser Chiefs song.  Takes me back to the time when I took my eldest daughter to the “alternative” clubs with her friends…. lovely memories!

Anyway, the reason I thought of this title is because my cousin Lynne and her husband Chris celebrated their 40th Wedding Anniversary last Sunday, their Ruby Wedding Anniversary!  Here is the card I made for them…

  • I added a square of white pearlescent card (just smaller than the white card base) which I’d placed inside an embossing folder and run through my X-Cut Xpress.
  • I then took a length of red satin edged organza ribbon and threaded it through a diamante heart slider.  Tucked the edges behind the pearlescent card and glued into place, then attached to the front of the card base with self adhesive foam squares so it stood just proud of the base.

I created the insert with greeting “Happy 40th Wedding Anniversary!” with Clicker Script in MS Publisher and added a scattering of digital rubies from my digital stash .  I added spots of glitter to make them sparkle.

I always like to add something to the front of the insert and just created a dot trail and swirls with my Quickie glue pen then sprinkled a pinky-red glitter.

I’m very pleased with the result – a beautiful, elegant anniversary card!
